Big Wish: Elephant Feed – Lucerne

Help feed our elephants by donating towards Lucerne bales for our elephants.

This is one of the many reasons why we rely on funding to cover these costs: Our elephants consume roughly 15 bales of lucerne a day during the summer months, and 30 bales of lucerne a day during the winter months. Lucerne provides an alternative source of food, especially during the dry season or possible droughts for the elephants as well as some of the other wildlife on the reserve. Lucerne is a high quality green feed and is high in energy and protein and highly digestible.
